ONCOLOGY

Appointments

Call us Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. to make an appointment. New patients are generally scheduled between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. The initial visit and work up will take 2 to 3 hours. Your veterinarian may make your first appointment for you if you wish. You may download a copy of the PDF or RTF file of the initial visit client questionnaire that will need to be completed upon your arrival. You may download this file at the bottom of this screen, print the file and have it completed prior to your first appointment in order to save time.

Appointments with the Internal Medicine Service are by referral only and all patients will return to their regular veterinarians when their treatment is complete. If you must cancel, please call at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit.

Before You Come

The Internal Medicine Service may need certain medical records or radiographs from your veterinarian. Your veterinarian may send them to us, or you may be asked to bring them with you on your first visit.

Fees

Before we schedule significant procedures, a written estimate of the anticipated costs will be given to you. We will require a deposit of 75% of the written estimate before the procedure or surgery is performed. The balance will be due when you pick up your pet. We accept the following forms of payment: cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Care Credit and checks (approved through Telechek®).

Special Instructions

The Oncology Service at the Veterinary Specialist Center is available to review, recommend and treat any neoplastic condition that your pet might have. This would include but is not limited to the medical, surgical and radiation cancer treatment options.
Please bring with you a written history describing the reason that we are seeing your pet along with any recent bloodwork or radiographs.
If you cannot get to your regular veterinarian before your appointment, please have them FAX to our office any pertinent information.
Please bring any biopsy and/or cytology results with you as part of the medical record so that appropriate tumor staging can be completed.
